When to Start Preparing for your Wedding

January 11th, 2011

Depending on what kind of wedding you want to have, you may have to start planning months in advance for one day of perfection. There are so many things to plan during a wedding that you may get overwhelmed extremely easily very early on. In order to prevent this, hiring a wedding planner or at least making a very extensive list of what you want can save you a lot of hassle. Doing one thing everyday can significantly reduce the stress built up from planning your wedding. If you decide to do it yourself to get the full experience, make sure you ask everyone you know who’s already gotten married what to do. They’ll tell you to work on your wedding invitation wording and tell you what not to put on the wedding programs.

Many women like to have at least 9 months to plan their wedding. This seems like a long time, but a custom made dress from a well-known designer may take up to six months to finish. And this doesn’t account for the alteration time. On top of that a wedding veil needs to be made and that may take a few more weeks. So to be sure, 9 months should be set aside for all the planning.
