For those that have a true gourmand on their gift list this year, don’t fret over how to fill their cooking gift requests. You can easily add pistachios and pistachio paste to their presents. It also makes a superb gift for any cook that wants to enhance any kind of confectionary goody to give it a rich and nutty flavor.

Pistachio paste has been around for years and used to flavor countless treats such as fillings, cake batters, frostings and ice cream or other frozen concoctions. For the chefs, or just the wanna-be chefs, on your gift list this year, amaze them with a wonderful gift they probably wouldn’t think to get for themselves. They’ll be baking up a storm and be so shocked at what a miniscule amount of pure pistachio paste it takes to add a mountain of flavor to their treats.

Pistachios and pistachio paste is often the secret ingredient in many European confections that have a subtle and natural, nutty flavor that you can taste but just can’t quite figure out. A lot of people would appreciate getting the gift of plain pistachios to eat or to make their own wonderful pistachio paste by grinding the nuts and adding sugar. They’ll go nuts for it.
